Holidaymakers can also, during their stay in the Périgord Noir, visit the castle of Beynac which is erected on its rocky peak since 1115 and which dominates the Dordogne. By visiting Beynac, tourists will be able to cross 500 years of History of France from Richard the Lionheart to Simon de Montfort through the Hundred Years War.
