On the coast in Tuscany
Since we arrived, let's first visit the coast, by rolling out the long fine sandy beaches, interspersed with high cliffs and rocky promontories, to give all the charm to this beautiful region that we call the Riviera, stretching out as far as the Apuan Alps. The most popular seaside resort is undoubtedly Viareggio, where next to Torre del Lago Puccini we have seen the shady camping Europa and from where a small forest path starts directly to the sea. There are beautiful chalets for rent and you have access to the swimming pool and the children's club.
Don't forget to take a boat trip along the beautiful islands of the Tuscan archipelago during your holiday on the Tuscan coast, and if you like diving, the seabed off the coast of Tuscany offers you incomparable wonders.
On the coast you can choose to stay at the 3-star Free Time campsite in Marina di Bibbona, located just 700 m from the sea. This beautiful campsite has a water park, a must for campsites on the coast, and sports fields, and there is entertainment and a kids club to keep you entertained.
You will find other good campsites near the famous seaside resorts of Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta or Forte dei Marmi, but from the seaside resort of Marina di Pisa we now go along the river Fiume di Arno to Pisa, famous for its Piazza dei Miracoli, where the famous Tour de Pise is located. To stay close, we offer you the Torre Pendente campsite, which is 800 metres from the Tower! This family and wooded campsite has a pleasant swimming pool, ideal for hot weather, although the coast is only ten kilometres away, and the Migliarino-San Rossore Massaciuccoli Natural Park is located on the outskirts of the city and has wonderful hiking trails that allow you to discover the Mediterranean landscape of the region.
Your campsite in the heart of Tuscany
Explore the hinterland of Tuscany and discover beautiful Florence, the birthplace of art and culture, home to a large number of monuments, such as the Cathedral or the Giotto bell tower. Lungarno refers to the quays along the Arno, another site that offers wonderful romantic walks, where you can admire the beautiful Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
At the gates of Florence you can rest your suitcases at the 3-star Internazionale Firenze 3-star campsite, located in the hills of Florence and equipped with a beautiful swimming pool where you can cool off.If you drive south, you will be amazed by the sublime medieval city of Siena, where you will certainly take the time to enjoy a good meal on one of the terraces of the famous Piazza del Campo, dominated by the imposing Torre del Mangia and decorated with several other 13th century monuments (Fonte Gaia, Palais Sansedoni.....) In Siena, do not miss the traditional Palio, horse racing in Piazza del Campo announced by a great procession, which takes place on July 2 and August 16 each year.
Almost halfway between Florence and Siena, we recommend camping Norcenni Girasole Club 4 stars, in Figline Valdarno, also equipped with a large water park with slide and with various activities for everyone, as well as a miniclub to let you take your time for yourself. That's right, that's what holidays are for!
Lovers of historic sites will love Tuscany: the Gulf of Baratti and the towns of Vetulonia, Vulci and Pitigliano have preserved the traces of Etruscan civilisations, while the Roman era is revealed in Roselle and Cosa. In Tuscany there are several thermal springs, such as those of Montecatini, Montepulciano or Bagno Vignoni, and there are many natural parks in Tuscany, especially in the Alps, where the beautiful Lagoon of Orbetello is located. The Park of Maremma, the Cretes Sienesi or the Val de la Garfagnana are some of the names to remember, among others for those who want to soak up the fresh air of nature and practice a little sport, between hiking, mountain biking, climbing and much more.....
