SardiniaThe campsite Isola dei Gabbiani - land of water is located on the seafront on the beautiful island of Sardinia in Italy. Holidaymakers will enjoy an exceptional setting for a dream holiday. Camping
Sardinia has long been considered the largest island in the Mediterranean (in fact, it comes just after Sicily in terms of size) and is an Italian region of great beauty, because it has managed, despite its tourist appeal, to preserve charming natural areas with unforgettable and varied landscapes.
There are 48 campsites in Sardinia, most of which are located along the coast, near the popular seaside resorts of the island. Plan a budget of about 1620€ for a week of camping in Sardinia during the high season (corresponding to the months of July and August), but you can save money by going on holiday in Sardinia in June for an average of 1043€ per week.
We will facilitate your search by introducing you to the various sights in the region and advising you on some campsites in the vicinity. Perhaps you have already chosen to stay on the coast and enjoy the unique charm of the emerald green sea, the long beaches and the small wild coves surrounded by the rocks. Porto Cervo is considered to be the pearl of the Costa Smeralda seaside resorts ("Emerald Coast"), in the northeast of the island. We recommend Camping Centro Vacanze Isulleda 4*, located on the coast in Cannigione, opposite the archipelago of "Maddalena and its seven sisters", beautiful islands with a rich seabed that appeal to divers. You will find all kinds of pleasant accommodations, between the rooms, bungalows or caravans, and you will have access to a beautiful wellness area. Animations and a children's club are organised daily during the season. Several other islands are part of Sardinia and are worth a boat trip, such as the Caprera or Budelli islands.
At the top of northern Sardinia, Camping Baia Blu La Tortuga 4* is the ideal campsite, shaded by pine trees and bordered by a paradise beach. Of course, all the amenities you would expect from a 4-star hotel, and Corsica is easily accessible thanks to a ferry at the start near the campsite.
On the occasion of our trip along the coast to the west, we arrive in the charming village of Stintino, opposite the National Park of the island of Asinara. This former fishing village is now one of the most popular destinations on the island and offers holidaymakers many opportunities for entertainment (water sports, golf, walks...).
Below is the town of Porto Torres, with some ancient monuments representative of the Romanesque and Pisa architecture of the island (Basilica San Gavino a Mare, Palazzo di Re Barbaro....).
We are now reaching the western part of Sardinia, where we have chosen to offer you camping Bella Sardinia 3*. This beautiful seaside campsite in Torre del Pozzo offers excellent facilities: swimming pool, direct access to the sea, entertainment and children's club. You will have the chance to come to the gates of the beautiful peninsula of Sinis, in the heart of the province of Oristano, with some remarkable nature reserves such as the Regional Natural Park of the Monte Arci or the impressive Natural Monument of S'Archittu in Santa Caterina, a 15 meter high arch created by erosion.
To the far south of Sardinia we arrive in Cagliari, the capital of the island, famous for its traditional festivals, including the famous Sant'Efisio, which attract thousands of curious people every year. Must-see visits focus on the castle's fortified quarter and the Citadella dei Musei. You can also discover the beautiful lagoon where a colony of pink flamingos and a large number of birds live. Camping Pini e Mare 3* welcomes you near Cagliari, always by the sea, with pleasant pitches under the pine trees and comfortable bungalows for rent.We continue our tour of the island along the east coast to Camping 4 Mori 4* (in Muravera), a beautiful seaside campsite with a beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi, and end our tour in the Gulf of Orosei, with its heavenly beaches, coves (Cala Biriola, Cala Liberotto) and unforgettable caves (Grotta Bue Marino), and adjacent to the beautiful natural park of Gennargentu, made up of snowy mountains with moufflons and golden eagles, and other threatened species.
In the country, you will be amazed by the ancient remains that are unique in the world of the Nuraghi (houses, forts...), which evoke a mysterious people still unknown to the shepherds and peasants. If you want to know more, there is a 200 km long route between Cagliari and Nuoro, to discover the Nuraghi, and you should also visit the Barumini site, which houses beautiful and well-preserved remains.
